Welcome to DA!!! I've never been exposed to early Canadian punk (actually, really no Canadian punk at all). What was "the scene" like over there?

The Toronto punk scene around 1977-78 was quite distinct and defined. Probably a dozen or so venues were available for live shows. Fashion had yet to formalize. Most clothes were self made or recycled. THE VILETONES were generally accepted as being the top band, with other such as THE UGLY and THE CURSE playing major support roles. This was also when TEENAGE HEAD began, one of the few bands from that era that are still performing.
